History
Established in 2016. Simitrio Cruz began his vision of having a small business. He has worked in the restaurant business since 1995. More recently, he ran a healthy concept restaurant on Michigan Avenue's 'Gold Coast.' He is delighted to serve quality, fresh, clean eating meals to local families and professionals in the Brookdale area for over eight years.

Simitrio has worked in the food industry for over 20 years. His experience has given him valuable insights into what customers are looking for when dining out.
Years of cooking, both on the job and for his family, have helped Simitrio to develop a menu of enjoyable, natural, great-tasting meals that don’t rely on being fried or artificiality-flavored to taste good. His goal is to find locally sourced ingredients while creating from-scratch dishes.
Simitrio’s son (and later, two other family members) were diagnosed with celiac disease, so most items on the menu at Nature’s Best Café have gluten-free options. Simitrio also understands the importance of proper food handling in order to avoid contamination when cooking gluten-free meals alongside regular ones.
